She Gives visited Perth on Tuesday, August 12th, for a Roundtable co-hosted by Minderoo Foundation and 100 Women. Marking the 15th She Gives event held across the country, it brought together some of the city’s most engaged and influential philanthropists and leaders in giving for an afternoon of thoughtful discussion and connection.
Proceedings were opened by Kristen Stevenson, Executive Director, Effective Philanthropy at Minderoo Foundation. In attendance were the foundation's CEO John Hartman and co-founder Nicola Forrest AO, whose bold leadership and long-standing commitment to positive social change has been an inspiration point for the She Gives campaign from its earliest days.
Guests enjoyed an insightful and energising panel discussion featuring Alicia Curtis, the powerhouse co-founder of 100 women - a collective giving circle which has granted over one million dollars and improved the lives of more than 36,000 women and girls in nine countries across the globe. She was joined by chairperson of the Fogarty Foundation, Annie Fogarty AM, who was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 2013 for her work in the advancement of education in Western Australia, and Nyiyaparli woman Jahna Cedar OAM who has been advocating for equal rights and reconciliation of Indigenous people for 28 years.
She Gives paid special thanks to Minderoo Foundation for hosting at their venue The Swan, and for supporting She Gives as a Major Partner. Thanks also went to She Gives Sector Partners and co-hosts 100 Women, who were instrumental in ensuring the success of this special event.
