We collect, store, and use your information as a data controller in connection with the operation of our project according to this privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”).

Any individual who provides Personal Information or Sensitive Information to us consents to us collecting, using, storing, and disclosing that Personal Information or Sensitive Information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. This includes any information provided through your interaction with us, use of any of our services, and use of the Website or any other website through which you communicate with us, including through our social media profiles such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and YouTube (collectively referred to in this policy as the “Online Platforms).

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy. Your continued use of Services will signify your acceptance of the changes to this Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy as amended from time to time is available on the Website.

Understanding personal information and sensitive information

Under the Act, you have certain rights in relation to the management of your Personal Information and Sensitive Information which is defined as follows:

  1. contact details such as name, role or position, organisation name, industry, gender, location, age, address, email address, mobile number, landline number and fax number;
  2. information relating to your circumstances and affairs (or the circumstances and affairs of the organisation) relevant to the project you may wish to share with us;
  3. information regarding our communications with you and your use of our Wesbite and Online Platforms;
  4. information regarding your attendance at events held by us;
  5. if you are an employee or prospective employee, information about your qualifications, skills and work experience;
  6. if you are a supplier or prospective supplier, information about your business skills, services, products and prices.

Other information we collect generally includes:

  1. Website Browsing Information. When you visit our Website, we track information to assist us in administering the Website and analysing website usage. This information includes:
    1. your Internet Protocol (IP) address;
    2. the state or country from which you access the Website;
    3. date and time of your visit to the Website;
    4. the kind of browser or computer you use;
    5. name of your Internet service provider;
    6. web pages from which you link to our Website or go to from our Website;
    7. the webpages within our Website you view when visiting our Website;
    8. Geolocation if you access our Website via a mobile device. You will have the option to turn off geolocation on your mobile device, but certain features in our mobile apps may not then work properly for you. As part of website browsing tracking processes described above, we use third-party technology, namely Google Analytics. We do not knowingly provide Google with any personal information as part of using Google Analytics.     We use cookies to personalise or enhance your user experience and facilitate tracking session and cross-session activities.     10. let you know about fundraising and philanthropy sector developments and other information that may interest you.

    2. subject to our confidentiality obligations, to third parties that provide services for or to us in connection with the provision of our Services, including our e-mail marketing provider to provide you our newsletter, invitations and sector updates;
    3. if required by law to do so or in circumstances permitted by the Privacy Act – for example, where we have reasonable grounds to suspect that unlawful activity, or misconduct of a serious nature, that relates to our functions or activities has been is being or may be engaged in, in response to a subpoena, discovery request or a court order.

However, if you post this information on the Online Platforms, it may become publicly available to third parties.

Disclosure of information outside the jurisdiction of the collection

We may disclose your Personal Information for the purposes listed above or as otherwise permitted by the Act to third parties, including to:

Some of these third-party recipients we may disclose your Personal Information to, may be based overseas and store your information on servers located overseas, including in the United States of America.

We do not disclose Personal Information to overseas recipients unless you have authorised or otherwise instructed us to do so, whether expressly or implied.

Opting out of marketing communications

We may send you newsletters, invitations and updates about our Services. You can opt out of receiving further such communications by notifying us using our contact details below by clicking the “unsubscribe” option at the bottom of any marketing e-mail received from us.

How we hold personal information and keep it secure

We process any personal information data in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles, and follow generally accepted industry standards to maintain appropriate technical and organisational security measures

We hold your Personal Information in a combination of hard copy and electronic files. We may use third-party information system providers who may store or have access to your Personal Information. We may combine Personal Information we receive about you with other information we hold about you. This includes information received from third parties.

We take appropriate security measures (including physical, electronic and procedural measures) to help safeguard your Personal Information from unauthorised access and disclosure. We want you to feel confident using our Services. However, no system can be completely secure. Therefore, although we take steps to secure your information, we do not promise, and you should not expect, that your Personal Information, searches, or other communications will always remain secure.

You have a right to access the Personal Information we hold about you at any time, subject to certain exemptions under the Act (see APP 12).

  2. we reasonably believe that giving you access would pose a serious threat to the life, health or safety of any individual or to public health or public safety;
  3. giving access would have an unreasonable impact on the privacy of others;

We may recover from you our reasonable costs of supplying you with access to that Personal Information. However, we will not charge you for the making of the request or to correct or update your Personal Information. If we refuse to provide you with access to, or correct, your Personal Information, we will notify you of our reasons to the extent required, and what steps you may then take.

If we change our Privacy Policy, we will post a copy on our website. We reserve the right to revise and amend our Privacy Policy from time to time and any revised version will be deemed to be applicable from the first date of publication on this website.
