She Gives at Government House

She Gives is incredibly proud to have brought together an extraordinary group of some of Australia’s most prominent women in giving together with the next generation of change-makers from diverse sectors and community organisations for a historic event at Government House hosted by Her Excellency the Honourable Sam Mostyn AC Governor-General of Australia.

In convening the event, the Governor-General recognised the vital role women play in giving and as community leaders: “I am delighted to host this group of exceptional and generous Australian women from diverse backgrounds to discuss and plan the strengthening of a culture of giving.”

We are grateful to all the women who joined us and so generously shared their insights into women’s giving in Australia and how we can grow it to meet the increasing need in the sector and especially to our panellists Deborah Barlow, Carrie Bickmore, Tanya Hosch, and Sarah O’Brien who shared their personal giving stories in an inspiring panel discussion, moderated by She Gives founder, Melissa Smith. Thank you also to Padma Raman PSM Executive Director of the Office for Women at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet for being the MC of the event, to Georgina Byron AM and Paula McLean for their votes of thanks and to Kristy Muir and Cat Fay for all their support in helping to facilitate the discussions.

Since launching She Gives, we have been inspired by the momentum of women sharing and celebrating stories of giving and joining the movement to collectively grow the power of women’s giving in Australia and today’s event marks a huge milestone in this campaign.

A special thank you to our Founding Supporting Partners Perpetual Limited, McLean Foundation, Snow Foundation and Noble Ambition and to the She Gives Advisory Group for its continued support of the campaign: Clare Herschell Georgina Byron AM Natalie Egleton Cat Fay Tanya Hosch Amanda Miller OAM Michelle Lin Paula McLean Kristy Muir Carol Schwartz AO Melissa Smith Deanne Weir”
